Give the auditors more information about yourself.

Born in Missoula, Montana (Mexican mother/German-Swedish father), Dolores has circled the globe to many countries since being a precocious, one-year old girl learning to walk in Mexico City. Love of adventure has taken her to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cuba, Ecuador, Brazil and Costa Rica (8 times), with extensive trips to Europe and Asia.
Global and local work include: U.S. Diplomatic Corps, Foreign Service, American Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Nutrition Consultant for children and older adults; Small Business Owner of diverse companies from importing folk art of Bali, Indonesia, and Latin America, to the invention of ergonomic products for the hand.
Since the early 90’s Dolores has been fascinated with the phenomenon and ramifications of a global aging population. As such she completed two Master’s degrees in Whole Systems Design – Aging Studies; and, Communications with an emphasis in exploring and writing about our aging world. Her undergraduate degree was B.S. in Environmental Health – Nutrition.
Dolores has had a life-long eye towards addressing issues of Social Justice. While working in Communications for Public Health – Seattle & King County, she coordinated the “Stop Germs, Stay Healthy! Campaign, assuring that all materials were available in multiple languages. Other projects for Public Health included a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) diabetes education grant, Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health. At the request of Casa Latina, a Seattle non-profit serving immigrant Latinos, Dolores assisted in the development of a bilingual/bicultural curriculum in Spanish and trained immigrant Latinos how to become home caregivers for older adults.
While caring for her husband, Kristian, for many years, Dolores volunteered for multiple organizations including the City of Seattle’s N.W. Universal Design Committee, Accessibility Committee and the Age-Friendly Coalition, the Healthy Aging Partnership, and the Uptown Theatre. Sadly, Kristian died in July, 2019. He was the love of her life.
With respect to personal interests, Dolores calls herself a “late bloomer”, performing as a first-time actor in three plays for Seattle Rep/Public Works. Her passions continue to be health promotion (riding her bicycle all over Seattle), supporting individuals from all walks of life, and seeking opportunities to create a better world for older adults.
