Praised as “a gifted and superb tenor” by Vashon-Murray Island Beachcomber, Oliver Callahan has had the opportunity to perform all around North and South America, as well as in Europe. Before relocating to Seattle, Oliver spent nearly four years in the US Army, which lead to him having the honor to serve as the Assistant Director of the 82nd Airborne Division’s All-American Chorus (one of the three premier Army vocal groups). While preforming with the Chorus, he was invited to sing at places such as the United States Military Academy at West Point, Ellis Island, Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, various locations in Washington DC, as well as multiple NFL, NHL, and MLB game appearances, the Coca-Cola 500, and the D-Day commemoration events in Sainte-Mère-Église France. After his time in the service, Oliver moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington for a post-bachelorette degree in Vocal Performance, where he is studying under Thomas Harper. His recent theater credits include: The Collector in A Streetcar Named Desire (Tacoma Opera), Soldier in Carmen (Tacoma Opera), Collins U/S and Ensemble in Rent (Renton Civic Theater), Anthony in Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Vashon Repertoire Theater), Jupiter in Philemon und Baucis (UW Opera), and J.B. Biggley in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (UW StageNotes). Upcoming performance will be Wolfram in The Tales of Hoffmann with Tacoma Opera.
